Goose Pond Colony is a municipally owned resort on Lake Guntersville offering two beautiful 18-hole golf courses. The Colony Course was rated 4 stars by Golf Digest in 2008-09. There are views of the lake from every hole on the course. The Par 72 course plays 7,101 yards from the longest tees. Green fees are $34 for 18 holes on weekdays and $27 after 3pm. Weekend and holiday rates are $40 for 18 holes including a cart. Winter rates are $27. The Colony Course has a snack bar open Saturday and Sunday from 8am-4pm, serving breakfast and lunch. Dinner is available at Goose Pond Colony at The Docks Restaurant. Goose Pond Colony’s second golf course is the Plantation Course, located just a short drive from the main complex. This course has open fairways, bent grass greens, and plenty of hazards. The Par 72 course measures 6,855 yards from the blue tees. Weekday rates are $28 for 18 holes. Twilight rates after 3pm are $23 with a cart. Weekend and holiday green fees are $33 for 18 holes with a cart. Winter rates are $23.
The newest golf course in the Scottsboro area is Broken Arrow Golf Course, located at 399 Broken Arrow Drive. This 18-hole mountainside course is open to the public. The course’s rolling terrain overlooks Lake Guntersville and the Tennessee River. Broken Arrow Golf Course has Bermuda fairways and bent grass greens. The Par 72 course plays 5,702 yards from the blue tees. Weekday rates with a cart are a reasonable $25 for 18 holes; $23 for seniors. Weekend and holiday rates for 18 holes with a cart are $30. Rates without a cart are $15 on weekdays and $20 on weekends and holidays. Broken Arrow has a beautiful clubhouse with a restaurant.
The Scottsboro Golf and Country Club is located on Hwy. 79 Bypass Broad Street. This 9-hole regulation course offers a fun layout for golfers of all skill levels. The Par 35 course plays 2,760 yards from the longest tees.
